Overview of The Carey School

The Carey School is an accredited, independent co-educational private day school located in San Mateo, CA. The core curriculum is taught in the homeroom, with the specialist teachers providing additional integrated curriculum in Art, Music, Science, Technology, Physical Education, Library Studies, French and Spanish.

Seventy percent of the school community lives within 10 miles of the school in the cities of San Mateo, Belmont, Burlingame, Foster City, Redwood City, Redwood Shores and San Carlos, with the additional 30% more geographically dispersed as far away as Half Moon Bay and Pacifica, Daly City, San Bruno, Millbrae, Menlo Park, and Woodside.

The mission of The Carey School is to inspire in our students a life-long love of learning and the pursuit of excellence within a diverse community that nurtures a deep sense of kindness, respect for others and personal responsibility.
