Summer's Here and the Time is Right for READING!
Reading is a wonderful way to relax over summer break AND support reading skills. The lists are guides only. Many of the books listed for a particular grade are appropriate for a wide range of grade levels (some can be read independently, and some are great for read-alouds). Your public library is a wonderful place to explore and is another resource for recommended titles. You can also enroll your child in your public library's summer reading program.
The 2008 Summer Reading Challenge is for the whole school to collectively read for 360,000 minutes! The reward will be a refreshing Jamba Juice Party! Summer Reading Challenge forms can be downloaded below and should be turned into the library by September 5th.
Most importantly - have fun!
